Tavel takes advantage of the notoriety of its earth and stone (1st French rosé, well appreciated stone) and offers numerous excursion possibilities to its visitors. The Tavel site, which is resolutely turned towards the future with the presence of numerous administrative, social, cultural sports and hostelry infrastructures, looks after it image and axes a part of its equipment's to welcoming the numerous visitors who stay within its walls.
Our village, which geographically is admirably situated, possesses a number of points of interest to the tourists who stop here. The situation, on the border of two regions (Languedoc-Roussillon and PACA), allows the tourist staying here (approximately 50 rooms available) to visit the nearby sites and towns :
AVIGNON (10 min drive) 
NIMES and its Roman monuments (half an hour on the motorway) 
The PONT DU GARD (20 km) 
The Cevennes and the sea (an hours drive).

In the evening following a day out, or in the morning prior to departure, the visitor can enjoy the peace and calm of a vintner village and discover the local history by wandering along the different proposed tourist circuits :

 As for those visitors who choose to share the conviviality and calm of our rural life, they can take advantage of, amongst others, the walks mentioned above and the numerous available sports facilities :

 Those who come here just to relax can, at their leisure, get to know the local culture by visiting the numerous local cellars or the companies working the stones. They can rejuvenate themselves and breathe in the fresh air in the different shaded flowery places (squares and gardens) or in the garrigue hills dominating our village.
They can also take advantage of our remarkable town library, which has a large selection of books and is open daily.
